Learning Through Play:  Story, Storytelling & Writing  May 4

Cathy has a background in developmental psychology, kinesiology and elementary school education.  During her education degree, inquiry was at the forefront.  Through her coursework, Cathy pondered questions such as:  What is our image of the child?  How can we shape curriculum to meet their needs?  How do we offer a variety of avenues for self-expression?  How can the classroom environment better support learning needs?  How do we honour the child's role in our communities?  Being a life long learner Cathy has been exploring these questions deeply over the years and has used her research and learning to create the foundation for her workshops.  Education offers opportunities for children to understand themselves and their passions, discovering the variety of ways they can express themselves and be in the world authentically.

Our task is to help children communicate with the world using all their potential, strengths and languages, and to overcome any obstacle presented by our culture. ~ Loris Malaguzzi
